# Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mabud Honored at Farewell Reception

In a poignant ceremony held at the Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) conference room, Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Mabud was bid farewell by his colleagues and senior officers. The reception marked his transfer to the position of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Rangpur Range. Mabud, who has been instrumental in various policing efforts, expressed his gratitude for the support and cooperation he received during his tenure at RpMP.

Addressing the gathering, Mabud delivered a directional speech, urging the officers to maintain honesty, dedication, and professionalism in their duties. He emphasized the importance of adhering to the law and rules, stating, 'Every police member must fulfill duties within the law and rules, keeping the interests of the organization foremost. No illegal decision can be taken at the request of any person or organization.' His words resonated with the attendees, highlighting the core values of the police force.

Mabud also stressed the need for mutual cooperation, sympathy, and professional unity among police members. He called for equal attention to the welfare and needs of both subordinate members and senior officers, advocating for a supportive environment within the force. 'If a member is in danger, he needs to be helped and in case of mistakes, a legal and humane approach should be maintained,' he noted.

Reflecting on significant incidents, such as the Machhuapara quadruple murders, Mabud underscored the importance of swift information collection, proper analysis, and organized activities in handling critical cases. He encouraged police members to regularly study laws, rules, and regulations, viewing the police job as a continuous learning process. 'The police job is a continuous learning process and it is necessary to keep knowledge and skills updated regularly in performing duties,' he asserted.

Mabud's tenure at RpMP was marked by efforts to enhance coordination and teamwork between different units. He urged the continuation of these efforts, stating, 'We have to uphold the dignity of the institution through our behavior, sense of responsibility and professionalism.' His departure leaves a void, but his legacy of professionalism and dedication will continue to inspire the RpMP team.
