# Rangpur Police Arrest 33, Seize Drugs in 24-Hour Operations

Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) arrested 33 people for various crimes and seized a large amount of contraband drugs in special 24-hour crime-fighting operations conducted across the metropolis. During the drives, different units of RpMP seized 1.7 kg of ganja, 35 pieces of Yaba tablets, 1.5 litres of distilled liquor, 16 pieces of stolen government medicine, one stolen auto-rickshaw body, and two android mobile phones, a press release said this afternoon. Under the overall guidance and close supervision of RpMP Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Mabud, the 33 people were arrested and the drugs seized in the continuous 24-hour special operations conducted across the metropolis.

## Arrests and Seizures

In separate drives conducted during the period, RpMP’s Metropolitan Kotwali police arrested 10 persons, Tajhat Metropolitan police station arrested nine people, the Detective Branch (DB) arrested seven persons, Haragachh Metropolitan police station arrested six persons, and Hajirhat Metropolitan police station arrested one person. Legal action has been taken against the arrested persons.

## Ongoing Operations

The RpMP will continue to conduct such anti-drug operations, enforce warrants, control crime, ensure public safety, and maintain law and order, the release added. The continuous efforts by the police aim to reduce criminal activities and enhance the safety and security of the residents in Rangpur.
