The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested two men suspected of murdering farmer Mofizar Rahman in Rangpur district. The suspects, Md Golam Rabbani and Shahidul Islam, were apprehended in Joypurhat and Bogura respectively. The farmer was found dead on May 7, 2026, after guarding an irrigation transformer which was subsequently stolen.

Md Golam Rabbani, 28, from village Satana Alirhat under Panchbibi police station of Joypurhat, and Shahidul Islam, 54, from village Purandar under Gobindaganj police station of Gaibandha, were arrested.

The suspects are accused of murdering farmer Mofizar Rahman, who was found dead inside an irrigation house in Umarpur village of Pirganj upazila on May 7, 2026.

## What happened during the arrest?

RAB-13 from Rangpur and RAB-5 from Joypurhat conducted joint raids. Md Golam Rabbani was arrested in Ratanpur (Raipur) under Panchbibi police station of Joypurhat, and Shahidul Islam was arrested in Jundah Bazar under Palashbari police station of Gaibandha.
