A court in Rajshahi has convicted Khoybar Hossain to life imprisonment for possessing 600 grams of heroin. The verdict was pronounced by Judge Rezaul Karim of the Additional Metropolitan Sessions -2nd Court. Hossain was also fined TK 20,000.

## Arrest and Charges

According to the prosecution, Rapid Action Battalion-5 (RAB-5) in Rajshahi conducted an operation on January 18, 2022, and arrested Hossain with 600 grams of heroin from the Belpukur area. A case was subsequently filed at Belpukur Police Station under Section 36(1) 8(c) of the Narcotics Control Act, 2018.

## Court Proceedings

After the arrest, the investigation officer of Belpukur Police Station submitted a charge sheet to the court. The judge reviewed the evidence and documents, and delivered the verdict, finding the charges against Hossain proved beyond doubt.
