# Railway Police to Enforce Strict Measures Against Train Stone-Throwing Incidents

Bangladesh Railway (BR) has announced a series of measures to prevent stone-throwing incidents on moving trains and enhance safety and security. These measures were outlined during a monthly operational review meeting chaired by BR Director General Md Afzal Hossain. The new protocols aim to identify vulnerable areas, distribute awareness leaflets, and involve local community leaders to prevent such incidents.

Under the new measures, railway authorities will distribute awareness leaflets, particularly on the Cox's Bazar railway route, and engage local community leaders and influential persons to prevent stone-throwing incidents. Director General Md Afzal Hossain emphasized the importance of building awareness about the dangers of stone-throwing, which can injure passengers and damage public property.

Officials have been instructed to immediately inform the police about stone-throwing incidents so that the Government Railway Police (GRP) can take legal action against those involved. Divisional Railway Managers will send letters to Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) in vulnerable areas to facilitate preventive action.

Location-specific information on such incidents will be communicated to the Additional Inspector General of GRP through official correspondence. The GRP will take necessary measures to prevent stone-throwing, theft, and robbery, including the protection of Aluminum Composite Pane, air-conditioning, and signalling equipment.

Additionally, Bangladesh Railway has decided to enforce stricter measures to prevent passengers from traveling on the roofs of trains. These comprehensive measures aim to create a safer environment for both passengers and railway operations.
