In a significant drug bust, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested a bus passenger with 1,270 Yaba tablets in the Palashbari municipality area under Palashbari police station in Gaibandha district. The detainee, identified as Md Zahidul Islam alias Zahid, 50, was apprehended during a search operation on a Gaibandha-bound passenger bus from Chittagong on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway.

## Operation and Arrest

The operation was conducted at 9:15 am following a tip-off. A team from the RAB-13 Gaibandha Camp searched the bus and found the drugs. Zahid, son of late Kafil Uddin of village Dariapur Mirer Bagan under Sadar police station of Gaibandha district, was immediately arrested.

## Investigation and Handover

Initial investigation suggests that Zahid is a professional drug dealer with a history of supplying, buying, and selling drugs across various districts, including Rangpur. After filing a case, the RAB handed over the seized drugs and the arrested individual to Palashbari police station of Gaibandha for further legal proceedings.
