# Police Officer Mohammad Golam Saklayen Forced to Retire Over Conduct with Actress Parimoni

Former Additional Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Intelligence Branch, Mohammad Golam Saklayen, has been forced into compulsory retirement. The decision was announced in a notification issued by the Home Ministry's Discipline-2 Branch on Thursday. The notification, signed by Senior Secretary Manjur Morshed Chowdhury, stated that Saklayen was found guilty of unethical conduct.

Saklayen was previously transferred from the Intelligence Branch to Public Order Management (POM) West Division after allegations surfaced of his close relationship with actress Parimoni. This relationship came to light following Parimoni's complaint of rape and attempted murder against businessman Nasir Uddin Mahmud in June 2021. Saklayen was investigating the case at the time.

A departmental case was filed against Saklayen on February 20, 2023, under the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules for unethical conduct. After a series of hearings and investigations, the Bangladesh Public Service Commission recommended his compulsory retirement, which was approved by the President on June 17, 2024.
