# Barrister Partho Asserts Enhanced Law and Order Under Current Government

Barrister Andaleeve Rahman Partho, MP, has stated that the overall law and order in the country is now far better than it was over the last 17 years. He noted that there have been no recent reports of enforced disappearances, murders, or bank robberies, unlike in the past. Partho made these comments while visiting erosion-hit areas in Ilisha and Rajapur under Bhola Sadar. He emphasized that during the past four and a half months, there have been no allegations of enforced disappearances, killings, political harassment, politically motivated cases against opposition parties, or state-sponsored corruption.

## Improved Stability and Future Prospects

Partho expressed hope that such incidents would not occur in the future, stating that the government is taking strict action against anyone found guilty of personal misconduct or irregularities. He also highlighted the importance of political parties exercising patience and refraining from provocative remarks.

## Development Goals for Bhola

Turning to Bhola's industrial potential, Partho stressed the need for the proposed Bhola-Barishal Bridge, improved infrastructure, and an investment-friendly environment. He mentioned that the government has decided in principle to construct the bridge, with approval of the Development Project Proposal (DPP) underway. The project will be implemented through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) following discussions with prospective investors. Partho also announced plans to establish a medical college in the region.

Addressing the issue of river erosion in Shibpur, Ilisha, and Rajapur, Partho described the situation as alarming. He said discussions would be held with relevant engineers and authorities to ensure prompt and effective measures. Partho noted that a World Bank-funded project is already underway to address river erosion but emphasized the need for accelerated implementation and permanent solutions based on technical assessments.

Earlier, Partho visited Bhola Sadar Hospital, where he promised to discuss the issues of physician shortages, sanitation workers, and other staff, as well as medicine supplies with the health ministry to ensure necessary measures are promptly taken.
