Mohanpur's heritage of betel leaf cultivation, recognized with a Geographical Indication (GI) tag, now has a visible identity. A boundary pillar featuring a betel leaf symbol was unveiled at the entrance of the upazila beside the Rajshahi-Naogaon highway in the Basantakedar area of Mougachi Union. The Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam inaugurated the plaque of the boundary pillar, which was built to mark the boundary and strengthen the agriculture-based heritage and brand identity of Mohanpur.

Locals believe the symbolic structure will not only mark the boundary of the upazila but also further strengthen its agriculture-based heritage, economic potential, and brand identity. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Shahidul Islam said every upazila should have an identity-bearing boundary pillar at its entrance. He noted that the Mohanpur boundary pillar had been inaugurated after overcoming long-standing complexities.
