After a devastating fire at the floating LNG terminal operated by US company Excelerate Energy, the facility has resumed operations, providing much-needed relief to the ongoing gas crisis in Chattogram, Bangladesh. The terminal's boiler, which was damaged in the fire, restarted at 3:10 am on Wednesday and began supplying gas to the national grid, alleviating the shortage that had persisted for nearly two weeks.

According to officials, the terminal has supplied 115 million cubic feet of gas by 9:30 am and increased its supply to 250 million cubic feet by the afternoon. This boost in supply has notably reduced the long queues at CNG filling stations in various areas of Chattogram, such as Tiger Pass, Kadamtali, and Muradpur, and improved gas pressure.
