The government has established an inter-ministerial committee aimed at ensuring expatriate-friendly services through effective coordination among various ministries, divisions, departments, agencies, and authorities. The committee's goal is to encourage legal migration, increase overseas employment, identify challenges in the migration process, protect the welfare and rights of migrant workers abroad, and ensure they receive hassle-free and dignified services.

## Committee Composition and Responsibilities

Headed by the Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister, the committee includes State Ministers and Advisers as vice-presidents. Its members comprise Secretaries from several ministries, the Chairman of the National Board of Revenue, the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, the Director General of the Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training, and the Director General of the Wage Earners' Welfare Board. The Head of Administration and Finance Wing at the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment will serve as the member secretary.

## Objectives and Initiatives

The committee will focus on simplifying, ensuring, and expanding expatriate-friendly services and facilities at airports and other service points. It will also identify existing problems and limitations in the service delivery system and recommend appropriate solutions. The ultimate aim is to create a seamless and supportive environment for prospective and current migrant workers.
