The Industrial Police has called for the establishment of its own permanent headquarters and an increase in manpower to enhance security and law enforcement in Bangladesh's growing industrial sector. Additional Inspector General of Industrial Police Gazi Jashim Uddin emphasized the necessity of these measures to improve operational efficiency and address the force's expanding responsibilities.

## Current Challenges

Since its inception in 2010, the Industrial Police has been operating from rented premises in Uttara, Dhaka. This temporary arrangement has hindered the force's ability to effectively manage its duties. Jashim Uddin highlighted the significant manpower shortage, with the current strength of 3,470 personnel falling short of the approved 4,200. This shortage limits the force's capacity to provide adequate security and respond to labour-related incidents in industrial zones.

## Proposed Solutions

To address these challenges, the Industrial Police has proposed establishing dedicated police lines in key industrial areas such as Ashulia-Savar, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Chattogram, and Mymensingh. Land has already been allocated for these facilities, and the Department of Architecture is preparing the designs. Jashim Uddin believes that strengthening infrastructure and increasing manpower will enable the force to better handle labour disputes, protect industrial assets, and maintain a secure environment for workers and investors.
