The High Court has scheduled the next hearing for tomorrow on a writ petition seeking the formation of an investigation committee to determine the cause of death of 75-year-old Nur Jahan Begum, whose body was recovered from a house in Mirpur. The bench, comprising Justice Fatema Najib and Justice AFM Saiful Karim, set the date for the next hearing during today's session.

The writ petition, filed on June 3 by a lawyer from the Dhaka District and Sessions Judge Court, seeks the formation of a three-member investigation committee led by a judicial officer not below the rank of a first-class magistrate to probe the death. The petitioner's lawyer, HM Sanjid Siddique, informed the media that the High Court has set the next hearing for 12:30 PM tomorrow.

Nur Jahan Begum's body was recovered from a house in Mirpur on May 31 by the police. The writ also seeks an investigation by the National Human Rights Commission to determine if her fundamental rights or human rights were violated, as per the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The investigation report is to be submitted to the court.
