This morning, off the coast of Hatiya, three fishing trawlers encountered perilous conditions in the Bay of Bengal, resulting in their capsizing. Despite the rough seas and adverse weather, all 48 fishermen aboard the vessels were successfully rescued, thanks to the prompt actions of nearby trawlers and local rescue teams.

The trawlers, owned by Nasir Majhi, Zahir Majhi, and Zahed Majhi from Amtali Ghat in Jahajmara Union, were navigating near Nijhum Dwip when the weather abruptly turned hostile. As the sea became turbulent, the fishermen faced significant challenges.

Nishan Chowdhury, the owner of Zahir Majhi's trawler, reported that the sudden rough weather caused the trawlers to struggle near Nijhum Dwip. Quick-thinking crew members from nearby trawlers rushed to assist, ensuring the safe return of all crew members to shore.

Two of the trawlers sank completely, while efforts are ongoing to salvage the third, which remains partially afloat. Local authorities, including Hatiya Upazila Nirbahi Officer Russel Iqbal, have confirmed the successful rescue operation and are coordinating salvage efforts.

Efforts to retrieve Nasir Majhi's trawler, which is still partially afloat, are underway. Local fishermen have corroborated that all individuals aboard the three trawlers were rescued, with four reported to have sustained minor injuries.
