State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit announced today that the government is committed to providing necessary assistance to flood-affected people across the country, particularly in Chattogram and the Chattogram Hill Tracts. The government is providing necessary support to those affected by the floods and will continue to stand by them until the situation returns to normal.

## Government's Comprehensive Support Plan

While visiting flood-hit Keuchia Union in Satkania upazila of Chattogram to assess the situation and distribute relief among affected families, Amit conveyed Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's greetings and sympathies to the flood victims. He assured that the government would ensure food reaches every affected, distressed, and needy person.

The government will not only continue emergency food assistance during the crisis but will also undertake rehabilitation measures after the floodwaters recede. This includes bearing the cost of repairing damaged houses and supporting farmers, fish farmers, and livestock owners who have suffered losses.

## Commitment to Long-term Rehabilitation

Amit emphasized that the government's support extends beyond immediate relief. 'We will take steps to support farmers whose croplands have been devastated, fish farmers who have lost their ponds, and livestock owners who have suffered losses so they can recover and return to normal life,' he said.

## Local and National Leaders Unite

Mohammad Jasim Uddin Ahmed, MP, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah, officials of the upazila and police administrations, public representatives, political leaders, and local social leaders were present during the visit. Their collective presence underscores the unified effort to address the flood crisis.

## Significance for Bangladesh

The government's commitment to providing relief and rehabilitation is crucial for the affected families to recover from the flood's devastation. This initiative not only addresses immediate needs but also aims to restore livelihoods and infrastructure, ensuring long-term stability for the region.
