The abductor, identified as Shishir Ahmed Chanchal, 22, son of Shahidul Islam of Mantola Jorgach area under Chilmari police station of Kurigram district, was apprehended following a tip-off. The victim, an SSC examinee, was kidnapped on May 17, 2026, while returning home after attending her exams. The victim and the accused have been handed over to Sundarganj police station for further legal action.
