Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized two foreign-made pistols, four magazines, six rounds of ammunition, and 24 bottles of Indian Eskuf syrup during an anti-smuggling operation at the Maheshpur border in Jhenaidah. A patrol team from the Samanta Border Outpost (BOP), led by Subedar Md Omar Ali, conducted the raid around 4:40am, according to a press release signed by Munsi Imdadur Rahman, Assistant Director of 58 BGB.

## Raid Details

During the operation, the BGB team spotted two unidentified smugglers near Belehati village, approximately 300 yards inside Bangladeshi territory from border pillar 57/1-S. When chased, the smugglers dropped a white plastic bag into a nearby bush and fled across the zero line into India. Upon searching the abandoned bag, BGB personnel discovered a carton containing two Italy-made pistols, the ammunition, and the contraband syrup.

A case is being filed, and the seized firearms and goods are being handed over to the Maheshpur Police Station, as stated in the press release.
