A 65-year-old man, Kuddus Mia, saved a 30-year-old woman from an imminent train collision at Narsingdi Railway Station on Thursday evening. The woman, believed to be in a state of distress, was standing on the railway track as a train approached. Kuddus Mia, disregarding his own safety, ran and pushed her off the track just in time. Both survived the incident.

Locals believe the woman intended to commit suicide. She had disembarked from the Chattala Express and was standing on the track, talking on her phone. Despite warnings from bystanders and the train's whistle, she remained on the track until Kuddus Mia intervened.

The woman, a resident of Kasba Thana in Brahmanbaria, was taken to the Narsingdi Railway Police Station for questioning. Her family was informed, and she was handed over to them. The police advised the family to seek mental health counseling. The woman had recently returned from working in Mauritius and had gone through a divorce, leading to her mental distress.
