# DNCC Administrator Vows Strict Measures Against Unfit Vehicles and Unauthorized Drivers

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Md. Safiqul Islam Khan today announced strict legal actions against unfit vehicles and drivers without licenses, following the tragic death of a DNCC sanitation worker in a road accident. Speaking to journalists after visiting the body of the deceased worker, Shefali Begum, who was killed in Madhya Badda, Khan emphasized prompt action against unlicensed drivers and those causing accidents through reckless driving.

The administrator urged all concerned to act responsibly and remain vigilant to prevent such accidents in the future. He highlighted the hard work of sanitation workers, who serve city residents day and night, and stressed the need for cooperation to ensure their safety while on duty.

Khan assured continued support for sanitation workers, stating that the DNCC would always work for their welfare. He expressed deep condolences to the family of the deceased and announced financial assistance of Tk 400,000 and an amount equivalent to one year's salary for the family.

Responding to questions from journalists, the administrator said that if any DNCC vehicle is found to be operated by an unlicensed driver or a helper, an investigation will be conducted and appropriate action will be taken against those responsible. He noted that, to his knowledge, no DNCC vehicle is operated by a helper or an unskilled driver.

Earlier, following the Prime Minister's directive, State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, State Minister for Housing and Public Works Ahammad Sohel Monzoor, and the DNCC administrator visited the victim's residence to offer condolences to her family.
