The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has announced extensive traffic restrictions and diversions across key areas of the capital to facilitate a series of state-sponsored events marking July Uprising Day. The restrictions are aimed at ensuring smooth traffic management during various commemorative and cultural events scheduled in the city. DMP Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed urged city residents and motorists to cooperate with law enforcement to ensure smooth movement and public safety.

Vehicular movement will be restricted around Shahbagh, Suhrawardy Udyan, and the stretch from Khejur Bagan Crossing to Manik Mia Avenue. To ease congestion, the DMP Traffic Division has introduced a comprehensive traffic management plan featuring U-turns, road diversions, and alternative routes for vehicles traveling through affected areas. Motorists are advised to follow designated alternative routes to minimize congestion.

The events include book presentation ceremonies at the July 36 Memorial Monument in Shahbagh, tribute programs honoring the martyrs, an open concert at Suhrawardy Udyan organized by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, and a cultural concert at Manik Mia Avenue adjacent to the South Plaza of the National Parliament Building. The DMP has requested commuters using the Elevated Expressway to avoid the Farmgate exit ramp and instead use the FDC (Hatirjheel) exit to reduce congestion.

The DMP has provided detailed instructions for motorists traveling from various parts of the city. For instance, those coming from Farmgate towards Shahbagh are advised to use Hotel InterContinental Crossing via Hare Road and Minto Road. Additionally, commuters approaching from Science Laboratory, Mirpur Road, Dhanmondi, Asadgate, and the Elevated Expressway have been instructed to follow designated alternative routes.
