# DMP files 3,257 traffic violation cases in two-day enforcement drive across Dhaka

*The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has intensified its efforts to enforce traffic laws, resulting in 3,257 cases filed against violators over a 48-hour period.*

In a significant crackdown on traffic violations, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed 3,257 cases against lawbreakers in just two days. The enforcement drive, conducted by the DMP Traffic Division, spanned across various parts of Dhaka on July 23 and 24, aiming to enhance traffic discipline in the capital.

During the operation, the DMP impounded 908 vehicles and towed away 426 others. The highest number of cases was reported by the Traffic-Mirpur Division with 670 cases, followed by Traffic-Motijheel with 492, Traffic-Gulshan with 458, Traffic-Wari with 450, Traffic-Uttara with 401, Traffic-Tejgaon with 372, Traffic-Lalbagh with 246, and Traffic-Ramna with 168.

The Traffic-Ramna Division filed cases involving 26 buses, three trucks, six covered vans, 20 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 48 motorcycles. Similarly, Traffic-Lalbagh booked 25 buses, five trucks, two covered vans, 23 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 148 motorcycles.

Traffic-Motijheel filed cases against 101 buses, 24 trucks, 34 covered vans, 68 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 199 motorcycles, while Traffic-Wari took action against 87 buses, 44 trucks, 28 covered vans, 39 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 143 motorcycles.

The DMP Traffic Division has vowed to continue these enforcement drives across Dhaka to ensure compliance with traffic laws and improve road discipline.
