The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,870 cases against various vehicles for violating traffic rules in the capital. The cases were part of a regular enforcement campaign conducted on July 18 aimed at ensuring traffic discipline, reducing congestion, and improving road safety. The DMP has emphasized that such enforcement drives will continue, urging motorists and pedestrians to comply with traffic regulations to maintain order on the roads. During the campaign, the DMP dumped 493 motor vehicles and towed 273 vehicles.

## Breakdown of Cases Filed

The Traffic-Ramna Division filed 95 cases, including 11 against buses, one truck, six CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 34 motorcycles. The Traffic-Lalbagh Division filed 136 cases against six buses, four trucks, 23 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 80 motorcycles. Meanwhile, the Traffic-Motijheel Division filed 300 cases against 19 buses, one truck, 13 covered vans, 87 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 136 motorcycles. The Traffic-Wari Division filed 307 cases against 26 buses, 23 trucks, 32 covered vans, 43 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 107 motorcycles.

## Ongoing Enforcement Efforts

The DMP has stated that its traffic enforcement drives will continue across the Dhaka metropolitan area to maintain traffic discipline. The police have reiterated the importance of adhering to traffic laws to ensure safety and order on the roads.
