Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain today called for personal responsibility among residents to build a clean, green, healthy, and safe city. He stressed that government initiatives alone cannot achieve a dengue-free, clean, and beautiful Chattogram without active public participation.

## Mayor's Call for Collective Effort

Addressing a preparatory meeting on cleanliness, workplace environments, and preventing mosquito-borne diseases, the mayor urged a collective effort. He called for individuals to start meaningful social change by dedicating at least one hour every Saturday to cleaning their homes, yards, rooftops, and surrounding areas.

## Involving Children and Schools

Dr. Shahadat highlighted the importance of instilling cleanliness habits in children from an early age. The City Corporation has introduced a School Health Scheme that includes regular health check-ups, health awareness programs, proper waste disposal practices, and cleanliness assessments.

## Challenges and Civic Responsibility

The mayor noted that the biggest challenge is strengthening civic responsibility among citizens. The meeting was attended by various officials, representatives of educational institutions, journalists, and members of civil society.
