Despite the passage of a large budget in Parliament, the lives of the poor remain unchanged. Rickshaw puller Akkas Ali, 70, struggles to make ends meet for his family of seven. He is the sole earner, supporting his wife, two unmarried daughters in school, and a married son. Akkas Ali lives in a mess in Tejkunipara and sends money home to Sherpur every week.

Akkas Ali expressed his frustration, saying, 'I hear a big budget has been passed. I asked if it would help people like me. He just laughed.'

Similar sentiments were echoed by Farida Begum, a tea seller in Kurila, and Jahangir Alam, a cosmetics seller in Tejgaon. Both feel that the budget does not address their needs or improve their living conditions.

Abul Bashar, a vegetable seller from Sherpur, and Faruk Hossain, a van driver from Bhola, also shared their disillusionment with the budget. They believe that regardless of the budget, their daily struggles remain the same.
