An attempt by India's Border Security Force (BSF) to push 12 people into Bangladesh was thwarted by Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and locals at the Pragpur border in Daulatpur Upazila of Kushtia. The incident occurred at the 148/3-S border pillar area on Friday morning.

According to BGB and local sources, the 12 individuals, including four men, four women, and four children, were attempting to illegally enter Bangladesh. BGB and local residents prevented their entry. Currently, these 12 individuals are located in a field near the zero line on the Indian side of the border fence.

Lieutenant Colonel Rashed Kamal Rony, commander of the 47 BGB Battalion in Kushtia, confirmed the attempt to push in 12 people. He mentioned that a flag meeting between BGB and BSF will be held later in the day to discuss the matter.

Ashrafulzaman Mukul, chairman of Pragpur Union Parishad, stated that the local people and BGB jointly prevented the entry attempt. Kushtia District Administrator Tauhid Bin-Hasan said that a meeting between the two countries will be held, and it is hoped that BSF will take them back.
