Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized Indian smuggled goods worth Tk 1.43 crore during separate anti-smuggling operations along the border areas of Brahmanbaria and Cumilla. The operations were conducted by patrol teams of Sultanpur Battalion (60 BGB) in areas under Akhaura, Chandida, Moinpur and Madla Border Outposts (BOPs) in Brahmanbaria and Saldanadi and Shankuchail BOPs in Cumilla. The seized items included Indian basmati rice, fuska, cattle, sarees, hair oil of Indian Seven Oil brand and liquor. The estimated value of the seized goods is Tk 1,43,87,600.

## Operation Details

The anti-smuggling operations were based on intelligence information and were carried out under the direction and planning of Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel S M Shariful Islam. The BGB has been intensifying its intelligence surveillance and operational activities along the border to ensure security and prevent smuggling, human trafficking, drug trafficking and other illegal activities.

## Seized Items

The seized goods included a variety of items such as Indian basmati rice, fuska, cattle, sarees, hair oil of the Indian Seven Oil brand, and liquor. The total estimated value of these items is Tk 1,43,87,600.
