# Government Launches Initiative to Build 4,599 New Playgrounds Across the Nation

State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haque emphasized the importance of sports in nurturing a healthy future generation, aligning the plan with the Prime Minister's election manifesto.

The plan includes constructing one playground for every two to three wards in urban areas and one in every union in rural areas. Each ward will also receive a modern futsal ground. Aminul Haque, during a meeting with city corporation administrators and CEOs, highlighted the success of the 'Notun Kuri Sports' program, which identifies sporting talents across the nation, and noted that registration for its second edition is open.

The government’s initiative is not only about building playgrounds but also about establishing sports as a viable career option. Various measures, including sports stipends, are being implemented to achieve this goal. Aminul Haque stressed that sports play a crucial role in building both physical and mental resilience, making the initiative a comprehensive effort to promote sports culture in Bangladesh.
