# 236 Flood-Affected Families in Bandarban Receive Aid from World Vision and GRAUS

In Bandarban, 236 flood-affected families have received cash assistance and health protection supplies. This aid was distributed through a collaborative effort by World Vision Bangladesh and GRAUS, funded by the Start Fund. The distribution ceremony took place at the Sadar Upazila Parishad, with Member of Parliament for Bandarban constituency, Saching Prue Jerry, handing over the aid as the chief guest. Each family received Taka 8,000 in cash, along with safe drinking water and various health protection supplies.

The event was chaired by Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Marufa Sultana Khan. Speaking at the ceremony, MP Saching Prue emphasized the crucial role of non-governmental development organizations in supporting government efforts during humanitarian crises. The ceremony was attended by several key figures, including Md. Ruhul Amin, Manager of the Start Fund Response Project at World Vision Bangladesh, Md. Abdul Aziz, Technical Officer, Mongthowaiching Marma, Chairman of GRAUS, Chinmoy Mro, Deputy Executive Director of GRAUS, and Ashish Kumar Haldar, Senior Manager of the Bandarban Office of World Vision Bangladesh.

The flooding in Bandarban has caused significant disruption, affecting numerous families across different wards of the municipality. The cash assistance and health supplies provided are essential in helping these families recover and regain stability.
