State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Aninda Islam Amit has requested not to collect the current month's loan installments from extremely poor borrowers affected by floods in Rangamati. He made the call at a press briefing after a meeting with heads of government offices in Rangamati hill district at the Deputy Commissioner's Office.

## Request to Postpone Loan Installments

The state minister instructed Rangamati Deputy Commissioner Nazma Ashrafi to request the concerned organizations not to collect any additional interest or penalties from affected borrowers for delays in loan repayments. Amit emphasized the difficulties faced by flood-affected individuals in paying their installments for the current month.

## Meeting with Key Officials

The meeting was attended by Member of Parliament Dipen Dewan, Rangamati Superintendent of Police Mohammad Abdur Rakib, Member (Joint Secretary) of the Chattogram Hill Tracts Development Board Suman Barua, Chief Executive Officer of Rangamati Hill District Council Khondakar Mohammad Rezaul Karim, and officials of relevant departments. The issue of accepting this month's installments later and not imposing any kind of interest or penalty due to delays was discussed with importance.

## Significance for Flood Victims

Many people in the Rangamati region have been severely affected by the floods. Many of them have taken loans from NGOs for various purposes. In the current situation, it is extremely difficult for them to pay the installments for this month. The state minister's request aims to provide temporary relief to these borrowers, allowing them to recover from the flood's impact without additional financial strain.
