A mild earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale was felt in several districts of Bangladesh on Thursday night. The tremors were felt in Sylhet, Mymensingh, and other areas around 9:40 PM. No immediate reports of damage or casualties have been received. This is the second earthquake felt in various districts within four days.

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department stated that the earthquake originated near the India-Bangladesh border, approximately 290 kilometers northeast of Dhaka. According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the epicenter was near Silchar in India's Assam state, close to the Sylhet border.

Previously, on Sunday night (June 7), an earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale was felt in several northern districts including Dhaka, Rangpur, Sirajganj, and others. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the epicenter of that earthquake was 15 kilometers west-northwest of Punakha in Bhutan, 432 kilometers from Dhaka, with a depth of 10 kilometers.
