# 3,200 Tarash Farmers Receive Agricultural Incentives to Boost Crop Production

A total of 3,200 small and marginal farmers in Tarash upazila of Sirajganj district have received free agricultural incentives including seeds and fertilizers to boost the production of transplanted Aman and vegetables. The incentive distribution programme was inaugurated at the Upazila Parishad auditorium by lawmaker of Sirajganj-3 constituency BP Ainul Haque.

## Incentive Distribution Details

The programme was organized by the Upazila Agriculture Extension Department under the chairmanship of Upazila Nirbahi Officer Nusrat Jahan. Among others, Upazila Agriculture Officer Sharmistha Sen Gupta, former president of the Upazila BNP SM Afsar Ali and its general secretary Aminur Rahman Tutul addressed the event. Additional Agriculture Extension Officer Hazrat Ali conducted the programme.

## Government Initiatives

Speaking on the occasion, MP Ainul Haque urged the farmers to make proper use of the government-provided incentives, saying the government has undertaken various initiatives to increase agricultural production and ensure the country's continued agricultural development.

## Distribution Breakdown

According to the Upazila Agriculture Office, during the current season, 2,600 farmers each received 10 kilograms (KGs) of transplanted Aman paddy seed, 10 KGs of MOP (Muriate of Potash) fertilizer and 10 KGs of DAP (Diammonium Phosphate) fertilizer. In addition, 600 farmers were provided with vegetable seeds and fertilizers under the programme.
